The PAIR framework and your suggestions on the onboarding flow are great – the archetypes gave me dystopia-induced goosebump.
My two (pessimistic) cents on the topic are: I would find it hard to believe that people are Replika are not fully aware of all this and these choices seem like a deliberate strategy to target a specific, revenue-bringing, population. Ethical businesses need to push the boundaries of their niche until they become the standard.
How's this response: I have shared my journals with Claude in a project and used it as a complementary tool to just build my own self-awareness, and I love the idea of guardrails. Absolutely loved the "PAIR" framework and the Replika's onboarding flow. It's so important to set the right expectations when you're being vulnerable. If the answer includes "this isn't the complete story", it could soften the blow and still make me want to grow!
